greetings to everyone! i am new here and i don't know how to post separately, so let me just add myself here :-)
i'm Moonyhara, i started working on IIH since year 2005. i had many difficulties on step I and i work intensely with my Soul Mirror or to put it in words inner alchemy. I delve in other systems too but only to help me advance in my practice. For beginners, the book may seem very simple but it really had been difficult for me in the beginning. But i got help from Divine Providence, hopefully this time i won't spend years again in one step :-)
I'm currently doing Step 2 and i am grateful for all the support i get from fellow practitioners and now for being in a community like this, i look around and there are so many amazing things here. thank you for inviting me :-)

Hello, I believe I joined this forum about a year ago and unfortunately I abandoned coming here somewhat shortly after joining. That's not the only thing I abandoned either. :(
For a year or two, I seem to have been going on and off with my training. Back when I joined I was very much into Hermetics and Franz Bardon's work, but about a month later I ended up getting lazy and stopped doing a few of the exercises. Eventually I just stopped altogether. A few months later though I worked for about a week then gave up again. The last time I worked on the training was back in February and March. I had actually gotten through the farthest I ever had. I had reached the vacancy of mind exercise. I attempted to do it for about a week and I just got frustrated every time I tried because I couldn't hold it for a few seconds. I ended up just giving up.
I've actually decided to give it another try. This time I'm not going to give up on any of the exercises or get lazy with it. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on how I can keep the will to do this? I really do try with this training, but something eventually pulls me out of it.

I have yet to start this book. I am studying Donald Kraig's Modern Magick, the new revised edition that came out last year. And, I am also studying The Golden Dawn.
My question is this, on Amazon, there are several editions available of this book. Are there significant changes between any of the editions. Should I just use the download version that is offered on this website. I just want to make sure I am getting the best and most up-to-date version unless of course all books out there are pretty much equal.

@Doktorian, let the gods do what is best for you... If you keep switching on and off it's because you're probably not ready for it yet and you've still have to live more life experiences in different ways.
Read the Theory and make yourself a master in the theory section, read more philosophers and examine your life, get in touch with the gods in an ethereal way, when you've managed that part you're gonna feel free to start the training and you're gonna be the best in it!
I've been experiencing the same, but you have to understand that this is not your only life and that you probably started your training in past life's with other methods other life experiences and that you have this opportunity in this life and you should do your best for it...

Im also new here, picked up IIH just today.
The only thing that bugs me, is HOW i picked it up. I already know, that universe is much more complex than i tought it was, and therefore there are no such things as "accidentaly" or "coincidentally". The thing is i found the name of this work by investigating Grand Grimoire. I hope it's not gonna be a hurdle for my magical studies, because it represents the dark side of hermetical knowledge....

Hermetics is my life. I am a crone, now. I was born in VA USA and travelled 180 degrees to come to Perth Western Australia when I was called here by my peers whom I have been blest to be found by,again. We recall working together in countless lives in ancient Egypt, India, Middle East, China, Japan, Europe,Tibet, USA et cetera.
We worked as students, priest/ess, druids, monks,theosophists, French nuns at San Maxim, and dutch alchemists.spiritualists, et cetera.
Today I embrace this Hermetic path by participating in daily meditations and analysis of my dreamstate lessons, projections and dreams. I have a small forum called the River of Enlightenment;

I was hypnotised to put this path aside for a time when I began to have nightmares as a little girl. I was limited then in the recall of my dreams remembering prognosticative ones which were profound but often having no clue about events around me I could have avoided had I been switched on still.
When I became pregnant with my own children hormones afforded greater recall of dreamstate lessons and projections and I became a lazy student of magick. It was not until I had a major Kundalini event that I became thirsty for answers and Hermetics began to consume my time. I was gifted with a copy of IIH in 2003 and completed the Ten Step Path with a group of 13 peers in a home circle meeting 3 to 4 times a week in my parlour. We worked for two to three years in this manner. We began to share what we learned online in chat and on forums. I lead three online groups through IIH with some success.
Buddha taught that the aspirant is both a student and a teacher of all whom they meet on their path. From my able online peers, I have learned about clairvoyance development, spiritual healing, Reiki, exorcism,shamynism,Kaballah and Ascension Alchemy.
From my blessed grandmother I learned that magick was a gift and not a curse and a sacred Divine Art.
I began to conduct Hermetic research into the predictable continuum of human energy body development in the magician through free clairvoyant readings.;

Hello All,
Rather then create a new introduction thread, I will pirate this one to say hello. I have not ready any information on hermetics yet but plan to soon. I have however been developing my energy body, mind etc. utilizing Robert Bruce's work. I have recently downloaded several pdf versions of Bardons books. Does anyone know if these are typically up to date? Initiation into Hermetics pdf version was only 170pgs yet the 2011 hardcover was over 500????
